Gabriel graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Geography and Minor in Biology from the University of Ottawa in June 2021. Gabriel discovered the field of glaciology when he attended the GEG 4100 Glaciology field course in Iceland during his fourth year of undergraduate studies. Ever since, he has developed a profound interest in glaciology, which impelled him to pursue a MSc in Geography under the supervision of Dr. Luke Copland. Gabriel’s research has the main objective of reconstructing the surge history of Fisher Glacier. Located in the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon, this glacier is one of the last large glaciers in SW Yukon which has not been studied in detail. During his free time, Gabriel enjoys hiking, exercising, playing his guitar, or sitting down with a good book.
