Jaime Dubé

Jaime holds a Master of Science in Geography from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from Mount Royal University in Calgary. Her MSc research examined the connection between hydrology and glacier dynamics on surge-type glaciers in the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon. During her undergraduate studies, she became increasingly interested in how hydrological systems are evolving in a warming climate. Her master’s research further developed this interest through the use of remote sensing to analyze complex hydrological systems on dynamic glaciers.

Jaime’s PhD research combines remote sensing and field-based data to investigate glacier change in the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon. This work collaborates with local communities to better understand how changes in glacier systems will impact downstream hydrology. Using primarily multispectral and SAR satellite imagery, she examines how glacier accumulation and ablation zones are evolving, as well as changes in the distribution of nearby ice patches.

Outside of her research, Jaime enjoys spending time in the mountains skiing, running, and climbing with her dog, Aspen.
