Tatiana is in the final year of her honour’s BSc in Physical Geography and Geomatics at the University of Ottawa. She is working on her honour’s thesis addressing climate evolution and reanalysis model validation since the 1960s in the St-Elias Mountains, Yukon, under the supervision of Dr. Luke Copland and Dr. Scott Williamson. Her work involves digitizing 5 years of historical Icefield Ranges Research Project climate records and comparing them to the lab’s modern 15-year record.
Initially not a particular cold-weather enthusiast, Tatiana’s exposure to Arctic studies in multiple courses throughout her degree convinced her not only of their importance but also of their beauty and allure. She’s excited to continue working in this field during her graduate studies next year.
In her free time, Tatiana is either playing guitar, making clothes, practicing yoga and meditation, or cooking. She’s also regularly spotted on walks followed closely by the cat that lives with her.
